Hi there! I'm Nayaelah (Ny-la | she/her) the force behind Empower'em, and I'm thrilled to share the next chapter in advancing our mission to empower women of colour to achieve personal and career growth with you: WOC WAY (Women of Colour Way)

Back in 2013, I took a leap into the unknown, kickstarting Empower'em — a passion project breaking barriers and uplifting over 3000 incredible women. With sheer determination, we've grown into a catalyst, securing $300,000 in grants to craft a mentorship program tailored exclusively for women of colour across Canada. Fast forward through these four impactful years of our program, where we had authentic conversations with 121 amazing women—delving deeper into their journeys of growth and success. It’s been an intimate exploration of the power of community and the collective wisdom we can gain from learning from one another. These powerful narratives have fuelled the creation of WOCWay, because the need for a platform like this isn't just a desire; it's an absolute necessity.

Why Now?

Now, I'm dreaming bigger, and I want you to dream with me. Why? Because behind the official titles and programs, there's a bit of a rebel in me. I'm the Disruptor-in-Chief, your person for out-of-the-box thinking. I love finding innovative solutions to problems, whether they’re physical such as crafting handmade plant shelves for my mom, or relational like navigating the complexities of the public sector and non-profit realms. I thrive on turning imaginative concepts into tangible outcomes. Armed with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a decade of experience shaping the landscape of the non-profit and public sector, I not only bring dreams but a proven track record of transforming them into reality.
